Ingredients

For the Salmon
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets 6-ounce each
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt divided
  • 1/2 medium lemon for juice
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For Garnish
  • Thinly sliced scallions optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Garlic Press or Knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the fillets evenly with 1 teaspoon of the kosher salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce (or tamari), minced garlic, olive oil, and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. Squeeze the juice from half of the lemon into the mixture and stir well.
  4. Brush or spoon the honey garlic glaze evenly over the top surface of each salmon fillet. Make sure the glaze coats the fish well.
  5. Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with thinly sliced scallions, if you are using them. Serve immediately.
