Ingredients
  

For the Oats
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt plain
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the "Frosting"
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

Method
 

  1. In a jar or container, combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and maple syrup until smooth. Dollop this mixture on top of the oat mixture in the jar.
  3. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or overnight.
  4. In the morning, stir the "frosting" into the oats. Add a splash more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency. Enjoy cold.

Notes

You can customize this recipe by adding chopped nuts, a sprinkle of extra cinnamon, or a drizzle of extra maple syrup before serving. For a richer flavor, you can also add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice.
