Ingredients

For the Agua Fresca
  • 2 large cucumbers peeled and roughly chopped
  • 4 cups water cold
  • 1/2 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup sugar or to taste
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine mesh sieve
  • Pitcher

Method

  1. Combine the chopped cucumbers, cold water, lime juice, sugar, and salt in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  4. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve over ice.

Notes

For a thinner consistency, you can add more water. If you prefer a less sweet drink, reduce the sugar. You can also add a few mint leaves to the blender for an extra layer of flavor.
