Ingredients

For the Salmon and Broccoli
  • 2 pieces salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 1 head broccoli cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic about 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and grated ginger (if using). Set aside.
  3. Place the broccoli florets on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the other side of the baking sheet. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the salmon fillets.
  7. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving if desired.
