Ingredients
  

For the Mushrooms
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms stems removed, gills scraped out
For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Tongs
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk

Method
 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  3. Place the prepared portobello mushrooms, gill-side up, on a baking sheet. Brush the marinade evenly over the tops and insides of the mushrooms.
  4. Carefully place the marinated mushrooms directly on the preheated grill grates, gill-side down. Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred.
  5. Remove from grill and serve immediately.

Notes

You can serve these grilled portobello mushrooms as a side dish or as a vegetarian main course. They pair well with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
