- Cut the Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally without separating them. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a greased 9x9-inch baking pan.
- Spread the cut side of the roll bottoms with horseradish sauce. Layer with ham and cheese. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
- In a small skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, until tender, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar, spicy brown mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the rolls. Cover the pan and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the rolls from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake the sandwiches, covered, for 25 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
