Korean Beef Rice Bowls

Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
For Serving
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional

  • Measuring cups

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  3. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce has thickened slightly and coats the beef.
  4. Divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the Korean beef mixture.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

This recipe is easily customizable. You can add vegetables like broccoli or carrots to the stir-fry.
