  • 6 Potatoes (russet, sweet, or white)
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
For the Toppings Bar
  • Salted butter sliced
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Feta cheese
  • Chopped fresh chives
  • Sautéed sliced mushrooms
  • Crispy bacon crumbled
  • Cherry tomatoes halved
  • Avocado sliced
  • Chili

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Scrub the potatoes clean and pat them dry. Rub each potato with cooking oil, salt, and pepper. Pierce them all over with a fork.
  3. Wrap each potato in foil. Place the potatoes directly on the oven racks or on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, turning them every 20 minutes.
  4. Prepare your toppings by placing the butter, sour cream, cheeses, chives, mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and chili into separate small bowls or plates. Arrange these on your serving board.
  5. Cut the baked potatoes in half and place them on the board with the toppings.
  6. Serve with salt, pepper, and your favorite seasonings on the side.
