Method
- Remove the crusts from your bread slices. Lightly butter one side of each slice.
- Place the bread slices, butter side down, in a 9x13 baking dish. Cover the bottom of the pan completely, cutting pieces to fit like a puzzle if needed.
- Sprinkle the shredded Jack cheese and cheddar cheese evenly over the bread. Layer the browned sausage over the cheese, followed by the green chiles.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the milk and all the seasonings, then combine well. Give the mixture a final whisk and immediately pour it evenly over the assembled casserole.
- Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, preheat your oven to 350℉. Bake the strata uncovered for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is puffed and set, and the edges are golden brown. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, cut your portion into smaller pieces for more even heating in the microwave.
