For the Coating and Sprinkles
  • 2 cups white candy melts
  • 1/4 cup fall nonpareil sprinkles also called candy nonpareils

Equipment

  • Double boiler
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Tall mug
  • Wide plate

Method

  1. Melt the white candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth.
  2. While the candy melts are melting, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the sprinkles into a wide plate.
  3. Pour the melted candy melts into a tall mug or heat-proof glass. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted candy, coating about two-thirds of the rod. Immediately roll the coated portion in the sprinkles.
  4. Place the coated pretzel rods onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining pretzel rods.
  5. Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill for 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate has set completely.
  6. Once set, transfer the pretzel rods to an airtight container for storage. They will last for up to 2-3 weeks.

Notes

You can use different colors of candy melts, such as orange or dark chocolate, to create a variety of spooky designs. If using thicker pretzel rods, you may need to melt additional candy melts.
