Ingredients

  • 8 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
For the Bacon Mixture
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Method
 

  1. Place green beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, until beans are crisp-tender, 8-10 minutes. Drain the beans.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon and onion over medium heat until the bacon is crisp and the onion is tender, stirring occasionally. This should take 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the drained green beans to the skillet with the bacon and onion mixture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss everything to coat.
