- Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and Italian seasoning. Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and chili flakes (if using) to the pot with the chicken. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the milk and add the cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted. Add the cooked pasta and sun-dried tomatoes to the pot. Toss to combine everything with the sauce.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the pasta and chicken.
- Stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
- Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
